The Western Balkans face growing instability. From renewed secessionist threats in Bosnia and Herzegovina to political unrest in Serbia and deadlock in Kosovo, the region is under increasing strain.
Hybrid threats (including organised crime, corruption, and disinformation) are weakening institutions and fuelling polarisation, while delays in Euro-Atlantic integration deepen vulnerability. As NATO and the EU reaffirm the region’s strategic importance, the intersection of internal fragility and external interference demands urgent, coordinated action.
This high-level conference will open with a discussion on the legacy of the Dayton Accords, followed by two panels on NATO’s evolving role in the Balkans and the challenge of foreign influence.
A rapid journalist-expert exchange will offer fresh insights on what’s at stake and what comes next.
