Amaia Sánchez Cacicedo is an Associate Fellow at LSE IDEAS, a Senior Fellow (Non-Resident) with the Asia Programme at Institut Montaigne, and Affiliated Faculty at IE University in Madrid. Previously, she served as Non-Resident Associate Analyst for the South Asia portfolio at the EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris. Her research focuses on Indian foreign and security policy, particularly connectivity, the geopolitics of technology, and relations between the Indian Ocean Region and the European Union. A Georgetown University graduate, she holds a PhD from SOAS, University of London, and is the author of Building States, Building Peace: Global and Regional Involvement in Sri Lanka and Myanmar. She has taught at IE University, SOAS and the University of Zurich, and previously worked with UNHCR in Costa Rica, Kenya and Sri Lanka.
