Andrea Cellino is Vice President of MEIS, the Middle East Institute Switzerland, and a Non-Resident Executive Fellow at GCSP, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. From 2015 to 2023, he headed DCAF’s North Africa Desk. Previously, he spent six years leading OSCE field operations in the Balkans and Ukraine, including a monitoring team in the Donbas conflict zone in 2014. From 2001 to 2008, he was Deputy Secretary General for Policy at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, overseeing outreach programmes with parliaments in the MENA region and Eastern Europe. He has published extensively on international relations, security and security sector reform. Cellino holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Torino and a Master’s in Contemporary History from UC San Diego.
