David Kazunao Meyer, FRSA, is Director of the United Nations University Hub on Artificial Intelligence for Climate, Governance and Culture and Senior Executive Director of the UN-accredited International Council on Environmental Economics and Development (ICEED). His work focuses on AI governance, strategic resilience, and the use of artificial intelligence to address complex societal and institutional challenges, with current research exploring AI-enabled early warning and preventive intervention.
Meyer is a member of the OECD AI Expert Community, NATO Scientific Board on AI, and the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence. He also serves as Senior Fellow of the NATO Defense College Foundation, Co-Director for UK–EU Energy Security at Chatham House, and Senior Fellow at the International House of Japan. He has contributed to UN, OECD, NATO, Council of Europe, and UNECE policy processes.
