Matteo Mazziotti di Celso is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut de Recherche Stratégique de l’École Militaire (IRSEM) in Paris. He holds a PhD in Strategic Studies from the University of Genoa, where he completed a dissertation on the use of the Italian armed forces for domestic policing. Before beginning his academic career, he served for eight years in the Italian Army as a combat engineer officer, leaving the service with the rank of Captain. His research focuses on civil–military relations, domestic policing, and military recruitment.
