Mehmet Öğütçü is an internationally recognized authority on energy security, geopolitics, international investment, and strategic leadership.
A graduate of the London School of Economics, the College of Europe (Bruges), and Ankara University, he is a former NATO Research Fellow, Turkish diplomat (Ankara, Beijing, Brussels, and Paris), and advisor to Prime Minister Turgut Özal. He has held senior executive positions at the OECD, the International Energy Agency (IEA), British Gas Group, Invensys plc, the Energy Charter Secretariat as Special Envoy, and the Asian Development Bank. He currently serves as Chairman of Global Resources Partnership (London) and Founder and President of the London Energy Club, while sitting on the boards and advisory councils of several international companies and institutions. His expertise spans energy security and transition, emerging geopolitics, technology and supply-chain resilience, NATO and Black Sea security, China and the Asia-Pacific, Russia, the Middle East, Eurasian affairs, and international investment. A frequent keynote speaker, author, and columnist, he advises governments, corporations, financial institutions, and international organizations on strategic risk, energy and resource security, defence, resilience, and global economic transformation.
